COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s 2015 football schedule is complete with the confirmation today of two date changes, including the season opener on the road against Virginia Tech, and the addition of non-conference home games against Hawaii and Western Michigan. The Buckeyes will open the 2015 season against Virginia Tech on Monday, Sept. 7 – Labor Day – at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Va. The initial date for this game was Sept. 5 but it was moved and will be televised nationally on either ABC or ESPN.
The non-conference portion of Ohio State’s schedule will then include three consecutive home dates at Ohio Stadium: Sept. 12 vs. Hawaii; Sept. 19 vs. Northern Illinois (game was initially scheduled for Sept. 26); and Sept. 26 vs. Western Michigan. 2015 Big Ten scheduleOhio State opens 2015 Big Ten play on the road for a second consecutive season – the team opens 2014 at Maryland – with a game Oct. 3 at Indiana. A pair of home games follow: Oct. 10 vs. Maryland and Oct. 17 vs. Penn State. The Buckeyes will then travel for the first time to Rutgers University for a game Oct. 24. The game will be played at Rutgers’ 52,424-seat High Point Solutions Stadium, located in Piscataway, N.J. Following an off week on the Halloween weekend, Ohio State returns to Ohio Stadium for a game against Minnesota Nov. 7. The team’s final three games in the 2015 regular season will be at Illinois (Nov. 14), home against Michigan State (Nov. 21) and at Michigan (Nov. 28). Big Ten teams Ohio State will not play in the 2015 regular season: Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin. Cincinnati game changeOhio State and the University of Cincinnati have agreed to move their game originally scheduled for Sept. 8, 2018, to Sept. 7, 2019.
