Down by a touchdown, 5:41 remaining on the clock, the UCLA Bruins needed a three-and-out to have a chance last season at taking down their cross-town rival. They had a chance. But USC went at cornerback Sheldon Price, then a rail-thin freshman. Three times on a clinching touchdown drive the Trojans targeted Price, picking up 11 yards then eight yards then 20 yards on their way into the end zone.
And that controversial 48-yard bomb to Damian Williams on the next series, which came after a beaten UCLA had called a timeout with 52 seconds to play? That also went over Price.
