Browns mum on Cameron's status
The Cleveland Browns have a strange, short work week ahead -- and a long list of injured players who are on the clock ahead of Thursday night's game at Cincinnati.
Browns tight end Jordan Cameron's status for that game remains uncertain, and Browns coach Mike Pettine provided no update Monday. Cameron suffered a concussion Oct. 26 vs. Oakland and didn't practice last week, though he did work out on the field before the Browns beat Tampa Bay last Sunday.
Because the Browns did not hold a full practice Monday they released an injury report, per league rules, with projected player status. That report said Cameron, Phil Taylor (knee), Andrew Hawkins (thigh/knee) and Johnson Bademosi (concussion) would not have participated in practice.
"I think it's important, knowing the quick turnaround, that we're fresh mentally and physically," Pettine said. "We had them in (Monday) and they got their lift in. We're bringing them back for meetings tonight. We're going to do everything at night (Tuesday). Then Wednesday is a travel day. We'll walk through in the morning and head to Cincinnati in the afternoon."
The Bengals have previously announced that Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict won't play. On Monday's did not practice list were running back Gio Bernard, cornerback Leon Hall, linebacker Rey Maualuga and offensive tackle Andre Smith.
Browns rookie cornerback Justin Gilbert, who took a shot late in Sunday's game but was later announced not to have a concussion, was not listed on the projected participation report.
