BROWNS AWARDED RYAN RAU
The Cleveland Browns today were awarded linebacker Ryan Rau (rhymes with NOW) off waivers from Philadelphia.
Originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Rau appeared in four regular season contests last year and totaled three special teams tackles. He spent the first 13 weeks of the season on Philadelphia’s practice squad.
A four-year letterman at Portland State (2008-11), Rau registered 287 career tackles and led the team in that category each of his final three seasons. He also added eight career sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Born July 30, 1990, the 6-1, 230-pound Rau is a native of Folsom, California, where he attended Folsom High School.
