Broken halo: Angels' Hamilton likely done for season

Angels OF Josh Hamilton has been disappointing fantasy owners all season long, so why stop now? Hamilton has a ribcage injury that figures to keep him out for the rest of the regular season, and possibly into the playoffs. If your fantasy squad includes Hamilton, find a replacement, and start looking in this week's edition of Free Agent Frenzy.
Thursday's studs & duds
Stud: All hail the King! Felix Hernandez struck out 11 batters in seven shutout innings against the Angels.
Stud: Rockies C Wilin Rosario had four hits, three RBI and a game-winning homer against the D-backs.
Dud: Astros 2B Jose Altuve and Brewers OF Carlos Gomez each went 0-for-6 in extra-inning games.
News & notes
Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado is probably done for the season due to pneumonia. Charlie Culberson figures to get plenty of Arenado's at-bats.
The Angels have pushed Jered Weaver's next start to Saturday so they can line him up for Game 1 of the ALDS.
Remember that the Orioles, Nationals and Angels have clinched their respective divisions. They'll be resting players sporadically over the next 10 days, probably without much warning.
Indians 2B Jason Kipnis left Thursday's game because of a nagging hamstring injury, and his status for the weekend is TBD. SS/OF Zach Walters pinch-ran in the game, and hopes to play this weekend after missing a couple of days with an intercostal strain.
Red Sox utilityman Brock Holt (concussion) "won't get into games until next week, at the earliest," according to the Boston Herald. Don't expect to see Holt again this season.
Taijuan Walker will start tonight for the Mariners. Walker is replacing Roenis Elias (elbow) in the team's rotation, even though Elias' turn technically wouldn't have come until Sunday.
Reminder: Masahiro Tanaka starts Sunday for the Yankees, and will probably be on a pitch count.
The Cubs are shutting down SP Tsuyoshi Wada.
In Padres news, RP Joaquin Benoit will probably pitch a low-stress inning before returning to the closer's role, and SS Everth Cabrera (hamstring) isn't expected to play until next week.

Robbie Erlin's six-inning, one-run win improved our record to 99-57 for the season. The weekend selections are Jose Quintana (owned in 36.5 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) at Tampa tonight; Miami's Jarred Cosart (22.8 percent owned) versus the already-clinched Nationals on Saturday; and Anaheim's Cory Rasmus (0.8 percent owned) against the always-depleted Rangers on Sunday. If you need to dig deeper on Saturday, try Oakland's Drew Pomeranz (5.1 percent owned) against the Phillies. Have I mentioned here lately how bad the Phillies are? Many times? OK.
See you back here Monday morning.
