LONDON (AP) England fast bowler Stuart Broad has been fined 20 percent of his match fee after criticizing the third umpire for not overturning Alex Hales' dismissal in the first innings of the fourth test against Pakistan.

The ICC says Broad made ''inappropriate comments'' Thursday on his Twitter feed after Hales was adjudged caught low at square leg by Yasir Shah for 6.

Broad admitted his offense and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Richie Richardson after the third day's play Saturday.

''One of the most fundamental principles of the sport is to always accept and respect an umpire's decision,'' Richardson said in a statement.

Hales was fined 15 percent of his match fee Friday - also for ''inappropriate comments'' - after visiting third umpire Joel Wilson's room after his dismissal.
