Former first-round picks Taylor Jungmann and Mitch Haniger headline the crop of six players the Milwaukee Brewers will send to play in the Arizona Fall League.
Catcher Adam Weisenburger, first baseman Jason Rogers and right-handers David Goforth and Kevin Shackelford will also represent the Brewers. All six will play for the Surprise Saguaros, joining players from Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland and Texas.
Milwaukee's first-round pick in 2011, the 23-year-old Jungmann is 9-10 with a 4.38 ERA this season for Double-A Huntsville. Jungmann is 0-3 with a 7.23 ERA in five starts in August.
Haniger, 22, was one of the team's first-round picks in 2012. The outfielder has split this season between Single-A Wisconsin and Single-A Advanced Brevard County. Haniger hit .297 with five home runs and 25 RBI in 41 games with Wisconsin and currently is hitting .252 with six home runs and 41 RBI for Brevard County.
Weisenburger, 24, was Milwaukee's 34th round pick in 2011. He's hitting .251 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 63 games for Double-A Huntsville.
One of the surprise performers in the minor-league system this season, Rogers is hitting .268 with 22 home runs and 85 RBI for Double-A Huntsville. The 25-year-old never hit more than 11 home runs in a season prior to this year.
Goforth, 24, is 4-3 with a 3.30 ERA in 18 games for Huntsville this season. He also made 14 starts for Brevard County with a 3.10 ERA.
Also bouncing between Brevard County and Huntsville this season, Shackelford had a 5.04 ERA in 24 relief appearances for the Manatees and carries a 1.07 ERA in 17 outings out of the bullpen for the Stars.
Arizona Fall League play begins Oct. 8 and runs through Nov. 16.
