MILWAUKEE—With rosters expanded and the Brewers looking for added help in the bullpen, the team has called up reliever Brandon Kintzler from Triple-A Nashville.
Kintzler was on the major league roster last season, but was shut down due to arm problems after nine appearances. In that span, he posted a 3.68 ERA.
The Brewers newest reliever began the season on the disabled list and was sent all the way down to Class-A Brevard County. Eventually, Kintzler made his way back up, stopping in Huntsville and Nashville and posting a 2.87 ERA between all three teams.
Kintzler is the first of a few expected call-ups in the coming days, as Nashville’s season ends after Labor Day.
