Breaking News: Marian Gaborik coming to Columbus

Published Apr. 3, 2013 2:41 p.m. ET

With one of the biggest moves of the trade deadline so far, the Blue Jackets have acquired Forward Marian Gaborik from the New York Rangers.
Katie Strang from ESPN was the first to report the news.

The most recent reports have the Blue Jackets sending Derek Brassard, Derek Dorsett and John Moore to New York in exchange for Gaborik.
The New York forward did have a no-trade clause on his contract, but Darren Dregor has reported Gaborik waived it.

The trade lands the Jackets one of the top names being tossed around this trade deadline, and helps the Rangers to move some salary before the salary cap lowers next season.
Gaborik has 9 goals, and 10 assists in 35 games this season, but could add some much-needed spark to the Blue Jackets offensive attack.
