DETROIT (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates say they have acquired minor league infielder Drew Sutton from the Atlanta Braves for cash.

Sutton has hit .270 in 38 games with Triple-A Gwinnett.

Sutton played 86 games in the major leagues from 2009-2011 for the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox. He hit .315 in 54 at-bats with the Red Sox last year, then signed a minor league deal with the Braves in the offseason.
