Braves release promotional schedule for 2014
The Braves released their promotional calendar for the 2014 seasons, including six bobblehead nights, one with a new wrinkle that puts it in the fans' hands.
Hank Aaron will be honored with his own bobblehead on Thursday, April 10 presented by Coca-Cola and Delta Air Lines. Shortstop Andrelton Simmons will have his night on May 22, presented by Coca-Cola and Delta Air Lines, followed by National Hall of Fame inductees Greg Maddux, Bobby Cox and Tom Glavine on June 17 presented by Delta Air Lines, Sept. 1 and Sept. 17, presented by Coca-Cola, respectively.
New for fans in 2014, the Braves will have their first-ever Fan Choice Bobblehead Giveaway, presented by Grady Hospital. Beginning on March 17, fans will have the opportunity to vote for Jason Heyward, Craig Kimbrel, Justin Upton or Evan Gattis for the bobblehead giveaway on August 13. Fans can vote through April 27. Additional details about the Fan Choice bobblehead will be announced at a later date.
The 2014 Braves Home Opener will get underway on Tuesday, April 8 against the New York Mets and include a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Hank Aaronâs iconic 715th home run. In honor of the momentous occasion, the Braves will hold a special on-field presentation prior to the game.
Turner Field will also see two postgame concerts, presented by Coca-Cola and Delta Air Lines, during the upcoming season. Grammy-award winning funk masters Kool & The Gang are slated to take the stage on May 3 following the San Francisco Giants matchup. After the Braves take on the Seattle Mariners on June 3, teen pop-sensation Austin Mahone will take the stage. All post-game concerts are FREE with a paid ticket to the game.
Prior to the July 27th matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Braves will hold a viewing for the 2014 National Hall of Fame induction and free poster gate giveaway for fans. Following their induction, the Braves will welcome Bobby Cox, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux to Turner Field as Hall of Famers for the 2014 Alumni Weekend Aug. 8-10.
In continued dedication to honor the United States Military and Armed Forces, the Atlanta Braves will celebrate our service members by donning a new military-themed jersey in the 2014 season. After each game the jerseys are worn, the new jerseys will be auctioned online with the proceeds benefitting military-supportive charities.
