Braves ratings on FOX Sports South, SportSouth highest in eight years
ATLANTA -- Atlanta Braves opening week on FOX Sports South and SportSouth, which included series play against the Phillies and Cubs, averaged a 5.66 rating, the highest rating for a season-opening week in eight years. Braves opening week in 2005, which included series vs. the Marlins and Mets, registered a 7.34 average rating over six games.
Monday's 2013 Opening Day game vs. the Phillies on FOX Sports South posted an 8.87 rating, and a peak rating of 11.25 in the 10:00 p.m. quarter-hour, the highest rated Opening Day game since April 3, 2000, which registered an 11.80 for TBS. Wednesday’s game on FOX Sports South posted a 5.75 rating and Thursday’s game on SportSouth registered a rating of 5.43.
The Braves weekend sweep against the Cubs, which aired on FOX Sports South, included a Friday night rating of 5.00, a 3.44 rating on Saturday against the NCAA Basketball Semifinal games played in Atlanta, and a 5.46 rating on Sunday afternoon.
