KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Ricky Romero battled wind and control problems to pitch four shutout innings as the Toronto Blue Jays topped the Atlanta Braves, 3-0.
Romero, who is making a bid for an Opening Day assignment, walked four, but allowed only two hits before turning the ball over to Dana Eveland, who pitched three shutout innings with four strikeouts.
The Blue Jays scored all three runs off Atlanta starter Tim Hudson, who went four innings and allowed seven hits and two earned runs. Hudson struck out four and said he felt fine. He missed almost the entire 2009 season after Tommy John surgery.
Travis Snyder opened the Blue Jays second with a double and scored on Brad Emaus' single.
