Bowling Green defeats Toledo 70-64
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- A'uston Calhoun scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Bowling Green to a 70-64 win over Toledo on Tuesday night.
The Falcons (9-11, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) shot just 31 percent (9 of 29) in the opening half but managed to enter halftime with a 27-21 lead.
Bowling Green improved to 58.3 percent from the floor (14 of 24) in the second half and never trailed after a layup from Reese Holliday tied it at 32 with 16:13 left to play.
Joe Jakubowski scored 16 points and Scott Thomas and Dee Brown added 11 apiece for Bowling Green.
Malcolm Griffin had his fourth consecutive 20-point output, scoring a game-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough as the Rockets lost for the seventh time in their last eight games, losing those seven games by an average margin of 18 points.
Holliday finished with 13 points for Toledo (4-16, 1-5), which was outrebounded 39-33.
