Bosh's honesty, humility may be his saving grace

Miami -- This was better.

This was Chris Bosh, assertive, present and honest.

Brutally honest.

One day after his disappearing act in New Orleans, Bosh emerged, not just on the court - he scored a season-high 21 points and pulled five rebounds - but he was in full bloom as himself as well.

Funny. Charming. Admitting to his disconnect this season from his team and his game. Admitting that, finally, he's trying to do something about it.

"This process hasn't been easy for me," he said after the Heat's 101-89 win over New Jersey. "Having to adjust to a new role is a lot different. I was letting that show through my demeanor."

Yes he was. This year hasn't been easy for the third part of The Big Three. He hasn't just struggled, but held himself apart. That separation's hurt him and his team.

So, on what must have been a lonely flight home after the New Orleans loss Friday, Bosh went to LeBron James determined to do something about it.

"I wanted to talk to him and kind of just really get to know each other," Bosh said. "You have to know the guy who's standing next to you. We can talk about Xs and Os all the time and what we're supposed to do and how we're supposed to do it, but just getting to know each other, I think that's very important."
