COLUMBUS, OHIO - Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will miss this weekend's 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game at Nationwide Arena, the club announced Thursday.
He suffered a lower body injury during the second period of Wednesday night's game at Winnipeg and is being replaced in the game by St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott. Currently, the club does not have a timetable for Bobrovsky's return.
Selected to participate in his first NHL All-Star Game®, Bobrovsky has posted a 16-15-2 record with a 2.85 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and one shutout in 33 games this season. He was recently named the NHL's Third Star of the Month for December after going 9-1-1 with a 2.13 goals-against average, .937 save percentage and one shutout in 11 games.
The 26-year old Novokuznetsk, Russia native and 2013 Vezina trophy winner has gone 69-46-13 with a 2.39 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 129 games with Columbus since the 2012-13 season and is 111-69-23 with a 2.52 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 212 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers.
