Blackhawks had it all, except staying power

Kris Versteeg was 700 kilometers away. His television made it feel like seven feet.

As the Chicago Blackhawks raised their first Stanley Cup banner in 49 years last October, Versteeg watched from Toronto, unable to banish the thought of what might have been.

"No one wanted to leave Chicago," said the former Blackhawk forward who was traded to the Maple Leafs in July. "Everyone wanted to be a part of something special again, and we genuinely believed in that locker room that if we somehow could have stuck together we could have become a dynasty."
