RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) Part of an elevated bike lane built ahead of the Olympic Games has collapsed along the beachfront in Rio de Janeiro.
Images on Brazil's G1 television station show a long stretch of the bike lane overlooking ocean waters has crumbled. It's not clear if anybody has been injured.
Rio de Janeiro is hosting the Summer Games beginning in August and the bike lane was among the projects built in preparation. It runs several miles (kilometers) through southern parts of the city.
No Olympic events are planned for the lane, which was inaugurated with much fanfare in January. But the collapse will fuel worries about the country's readiness to host the Games.
