The Big Ten does not plan to pursue anymore expansion for the "foreseeable" future, the conference announced Sunday.

The announcement came following the Big Ten's presidents/chancellors annual winter meetings in Park Ridge, Ill.

"Although the conference will continue to monitor the intercollegiate landscape, it will not be actively engaged in conference expansion for the foreseeable future and does not expect to be proactively seeking new members," Indiana University President Michael McRobbie, the council's chair, said in a statement.

Nebraska will join the Big Ten next season, giving the conference 12 members.
