Big second quarter carries UTSA past UTEP

EL PASO, Texas (AP) -- Eric Soza passed for 204 yards and a touchdown and three Roadrunners rushed for touchdowns as Texas-San Antonio smacked cross-state rival Texas-El Paso in the conference, 32-13 Saturday night.

Brandon Armstrong raced 29 yards for the game's first touchdown, but UTEP (1-2, 0-1 Conference USA) came right back to tie when Autry Golden returned the ensuing kickoff for the Miners' lone touchdown.

Kam Jones ran 28 yards for a score and Seth Grubb added a two-point PAT to put UTSA ahead for good at 15-10 early in the second quarter. Sean Ianno booted a 37-yard field goal and Soza threw 17 yards to Cole Hubble to make it 25-10 at halftime.

Jay Mattox kicked field goals of 28 and 24 yards for the Miners.

David Glasco II capped a 10-play, 77-yard drive in the fourth quarter by dashing 17 yards for a UTSA (2-2, 1-0 Conference USA) touchdown.
