Bengals announce trio of roster moves
With their next game looming Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins, the Cincinnati Bengals made three roster moves on Tuesday, including putting Pro Bowl cornerback Leon Hall on Injured Reserve.
Via a press release from the team:
* Placed CB Leon Hall on the Reserve/Injured list. Hall, in his seventh NFL season, all with the Bengals, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on Oct. 27 at Detroit. A 2007 first-round Cincinnati draft choice, Hall has 92 career games played with 86 starts, and he ranks fifth on the Bengals all-time in interceptions (22). He started five of this season’s first seven games, missing two with a hamstring strain. He was inactive due to the Achilles injury for last week’s game vs. the New York Jets.
*Signed LB J.K. Schaffer to the roster from the Bengals practice squad. Schaffer (6-0, 232; University of Cincinnati) is a first-year NFL player. He opened the season on the practice squad, was activated to the roster and played in Game 2, Sept. 16 vs. Pittsburgh, and was waived following the Pittsburgh game, returning to the practice squad for Games 3-8. Schaffer led the team in preseason tackles (20), with one sack.
* Waived DE DeQuin Evans, a first-year player from Kentucky. Evans had been cleared to rejoin team activities on a roster exemption yesterday, following his completion of an NFL suspension for Games 1-8 due to violation of league policy on performance-enhancing substances.
