The Bengals will see a familiar face this preseason when they travel to Glendale, Ariz., for a Sunday primetime game against the Arizona Cardinals and former Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer on Aug. 24.

The NFL released its 2014 preseason schedule on Wednesday. The Bengals will play at Kansas City and Arizona while hosting the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts. Exact dates are still to be determined for the first two games against the Chiefs (Aug. 7-10) and Jets (Aug. 14-18) but the game against Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium will be broadcast nationally by NBC with an 8 p.m. (EST) scheduled kickoff. Palmer was the top overall pick of the 2003 draft by the Bengals and was Cincinnati's starter from 2004-2010.

The preseason finale will be on Aug. 28 and again be against Indianapolis, as has become tradition. The Bengals and Colts have played 22 times in the preseason, all since the franchise moved to Indiana. They have played every preseason since 1995 with the exception of 2000 and this will be the 12th straight preseason the two clubs have played their final regular season warm-ups against each other.
