TOLEDO - Cincinnati senior defensive end Walter Stewart is out indefinitely with an undisclosed upper body injury.
Stewart, the top pass rusher for the 5-0 and No. 21 Bearcats, suffered the injury last week vs. Fordham and it was discovered this week. A Cincinnati spokesman said Stewart was out for Saturday night's game at Toledo and his status going forward is still to be determined.
Stewart (6'5, 249) leads the team with five sacks and seven tackles for loss and is considered an NFL draft prospect as an outside linebacker and pass-rush specialist.
The Bearcats play next Friday at Louisville.
