Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty exited the Bears' game against Texas Tech early with a "mild concussion," Baylor announced.

Petty took a helmet-to-helmet hit to the chin in the third quarter and his head slammed against the turf.

He was slow to get up and after being tended to by Baylor athletic trainers, he left the field under his own power. He later went back in to the locker room and returned to the sidelines without his pads.

Seth Russell replaced Petty, who had completed 18-of-25 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Petty missed nearly two games earlier this season with two fractured transverse processes in his back.
