Baseball player destroyed his own windshield with a grand slam
The good news is, outfielder Brandon Thomas' blast left the park and traveled a long way. Of course the bad news is, his truck is going to need to spend some time in the shop.
Thomas, a former Yankees prospect, hit the base-clearing, glass-shattering homer in the second inning of the Gateway Grizzlies (of the independent Frontier League) game on Sunday. Grizzlies broadcaster Sam Levitt posted a shot of the aftermath and noted that Thomas wasn't exactly parked in the front row where he might have expected some damage.
At least Thomas is taking it all in stride.
Insurance should cover the damage but if not, there's ways around it.
Can't make this up. @brandonthomas6 hit a grand slam tonight that smashed a windshield. That's his own truck. pic.twitter.com/B1ZqFUyfSe

I should also mention...the car is parked a good distance behind the fence. This was a moonshot. https://t.co/fOz7U6Rxvt
