Bangladesh's Taskin Ahmed remains suspended after review

NEW DELHI (AP) Bangladesh paceman Taskin Ahmed's suspension because of an illegal bowling action has been upheld following an urgent review.

The International Cricket Council made the announcement Wednesday after independent judicial commissioner Michael Beloff conducted the hearing via teleconference and notified all concerned parties of his decision.

Ahmed had requested an expeditious review in a bid to be available for of Wednesday's Super 10 Group 2 game against India at Bangalore at the World Twenty 20 tournament.

Ahmed and teammate Arafat Sunny were reported for suspect bowling actions during Bangladesh's opener against the Netherlands on March 9.

Ahmed underwent an independent assessment at an ICC-accredited center in Chennai on March 15 before being suspended.

He can resume bowling in international cricket if a re-assessment clears him after remedial work on his action.
