The Wisconsin men's hockey squad skated to a 1-all tie with tradition-rich North Dakota Friday night.

The Badgers knotted things at 1-1 at 0:38 of the second period, off a goal from standout Michael Mersch that was assisted by Mark Zengerle and Joseph LaBate. From there, solid goaltending from both squads ensured the game remained tied throughout an extra session.

North Dakota (13-8-6) got 29 saves from netminder Zane Gothberg. Wisconsin (11-8-6) got 21 saves from goalie Landon Peterson.

North Dakota's initial goal Friday came from star Danny Kristo. It was his 16th goal of the season.
