The Wisconsin men's hockey squad posted a 3-all tie against second-ranked Boston University on Friday night at the Kohl Center.

With the tie, Wisconsin's record moved to 2-11-2 overall. Boston University moved to 11-3-4 overall.

Wisconsin seized early control of Friday night's contest, thanks to a pair of goals from standout Jedd Soleway. Soleway staked the host Badgers to a 3-1 lead by the 17:19 mark of the third period, but the Terriers would not go away.

Boston University, a Hockey East power, knotted things at 3-all with just seconds remaining in regulation after pulling its goalie, when Terriers standout Ahti Oksanen tallied his second goal of the period.

After that, neither an overtime or a shootout session provided a victor, leaving the Badgers to settle for a tie despite 36 saves from senior netminder Joel Rumpel. Wisconsin also fired a season-high 32 shots on goal on the night. Technically, Boston won the postgame shootout on Friday, but the game officially goes into the record books as a tie.

The Badgers and Terriers return to action Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
