GREEN BAY, Wis. -- A frustrating weekend came to a conclusion for the Wisconsin men's hockey squad with Saturday's 4-1 setback at the hands of Northern Michigan at the Resch Center.
The power play continued to be a problem for the Badgers (0-4-0 overall), as Wisconsin went 0 for 7 with the man advantage in Saturday's series finale. NMU finished the weekend with 12 penalty kills.
Wisconsin got a late goal that was credited to Brad Navin, but the damage was done at that point. Northern Michigan was paced by Dominik Shine's two points (goal, assist) and also got 24 saves from its netminder, Mathias Dahlstrom.
The Badgers lost despite having a 25-18 advantage in shots on goal.
Wisconsin goaltender Joel Rumpel recorded 14 saves in his third consecutive start in net.
Wisconsin, which had entered the weekend ranked No. 18 nationally, will return to action on Friday, Nov. 7, when it hosts North Dakota at the Kohl Center.
