Badgers fall despite outshooting Huskies

MADISON, Wis. – Despite outshooting St. Cloud State (12-14-4, 9-10-3 WCHA) by a 42-23 margin and leading 1-0 heading into the third period, Wisconsin (12-14-2, 7-13-2) lost, 2-1, to the Huskies on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
After a scoreless first period, sophomore defenseman Frankie Simonelli scored a power-play goal at 3:54 of the second period for a 1-0 UW lead. SCSU tied the game at 57 seconds of the third period on a Nic Dowd goal and then got a Jarrod Rabey goal at 14:57 of the period to get the win.
