DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) Opening batsman Azhar Ali hit a career-best unbeaten 272 and propelled Pakistan to 530-3 against the West Indies at dinner on the second day of the day-night test on Friday.

Azhar dominated West Indies pink-ball bowling to raise his second double-century in his 50th test. He's hit 22 fours and two sixes in his knock off 436 balls.

Legspinner Devendra Bishoo got the wickets of debutant Babar Azam (69) in the second session, after taking out Asad Shafiq (67) in the first. Both batsmen shared century stands with Azhar.

West Indies' inexperienced bowlers bowled too short on a flat pitch, and Azhar, 146 overnight, cashed in on with some crisp drives and pull shots after Pakistan resumed from 279-1 overnight.

Azhar's only blemish came on 190 in the first session when lone slip Jermaine Blackwood grassed a chance off Roston Chase's sharp offspin.
