The Super Bowl is always a hot ticket. But this year's version is already en fuego.

According to SeatGeek, the average resale price for a ticket to Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium is $5,335, which is already the highest in the company's history. The least expensive ticket is more than $3,000 and fans that want to score a precious seat at the 50-yard line in the lower level should expect to spend more than $7,000 at the moment.

That makes this the most expensive event in SeatGeek history, higher than even the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight from last year. That's saying something.

Since 2010, none of the Super Bowls have had resale prices of more than $4,000 on the day of the conference championship games. And trends show that prices drop in the two weeks between Championship Sunday and the Super Bowl. So, those of you who show a little patience could get a better deal the closer we get to Feb. 7.

Here is how the average ticket prices ended up for the past five years.

1. XLV: Packers vs. Steelers (2011): $3,561

2. XLVI: Patriots vs. Giants (2012): $2,991

3. XLVII: 49ers vs. Ravens (2013): $2,479

4. XLVIII: Broncos vs. Seahawks (2014): $2,537

5. XLIX: Patriots vs. Seahawks (2015): $4,271

Here's hoping some Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos fans have some money saved for a rainy day.
