The Detroit Tigers got their 52nd win Friday, but manager Brad Ausmus might not get full credit.
Ausmus had to leave the dugout in the second inning because of flu-like symptoms.
"He wasn't feeling good when we came to the park today and he just told me before the game started, 'If I just don't feel well, you just take it,'" Tigers bench coach Gene Lamont told FOX Sports Detroit's John Keating on the post-game show. "In the second inning, he just said, 'I'm going to go upstairs.' He's still not feeling well."
Lamont, a former big-league manager, took over for Ausmus for the rest of the 2-1 victory.

Lamont said Ausmus also had to leave the field during batting practice.
