ASU's Carson adds to growing legion of admirers
During the Adidas
Nations tournament in California earlier this month, Arizona State star
Jahii Carson impressed observers who watched the between-game runs
featuring college players working as counselors.
The
Sun Devil sophomore-to-be subsequently was saluted by Dime
Magazine, which put the following video on its
website and suggested the former Mesa High star could be the top
collegiate point guard in the nation:
The salvo of mock
lists already taking aim at the 2014 NBA Draft have Jahii going as high
as 17th (draftexpress.com) and as low as 38th
(NBADraft.net).
According to typical conjecture from
draft savants, Carson was wise to return for his sophomore season at
ASU. But many of the same sharpies presume Jahii’s height (about
5-foot-10) is his major challenge in attempting to be selected even
higher.
For his sake, let’s hope Carson gets taller
through the process of spending another year in Tempe.
