ASU volleyball improves to 7-0, has yet to lose a set

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.- Arizona State volleyball improved to 7-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Youngstown State (3-4) on Thursday night. Scores were 25-21, 25-11, 25-21.

ASU is one of only two teams that has yet to lose a set this season. The 7-0 start is the best for the program since 1997, and its been 40 years since the Sun Devils opened the season by winning 21 consecutive sets.

Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week Macey Gardner and BreElle Bailey led ASU with 10 kills apiece. Stephanie Preach recorded 18 digs, bringing her career total to 1,571. She needs 26 more to rank second all-time among ASU players.

The Sun Devils have a pair of tough matches on Friday, taking on No. 14 Illinois and No. 2 Texas, the defending national champions.
