ASU-NAU opener picked for Pac-12 Network

TEMPE. ARIZ. - The Arizona State University football team will open play in 2012 at home versus Northern Arizona on Thursday, August 30 at 7:30p.m. at Sun Devil Stadium. The game was selected for Thursday to accommodate the new Pac-12 Television Network.

The opener will be part of the new Network’s first college football night, the second game of a doubleheader. The network's very first telecast will be earlier that day featuring Utah vs. Northern Colorado at 4:15 p.m. Thus far, the Pac-12 Network is available only on COX cable in the Phoenix area. The NAU game will be one of three Thursday night games for Arizona State, call to accommodate television. The other Thurdsay night games are Oct. 11 at Colordo and Oct. 18 vs. Oregon at Sun Devil Stadium and will be televised by ESPN.

The Sun Devils will also play one Friday night game: Their Thanksgiving weekend season finale at Arizona on Nov. 23. The Arizona game is also scheduled for ESPN.

All remaining television selections will be made six or 12 days in advance of the game.
