PHOENIX -- Arizona State knocked Arizona starter Xavier Borde from the game before he recorded an out and went on to defeat the Wildcats 13-7 on Sunday night at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.

Colby Woodmansee paced a 16-hit offensive attack for the Sun Devils (23-9, 11-3 Pac-12), who scored four runs in the first off Borde and three in the second off reliever Austin Schnabel en route to a second consecutive win over the Wildcats (22-11, 7-7).

The Wildcats got home runs from Bobby Dalbec and Kevin Newman to narrow the deficit to 7-5 in the top of the fifth, but ASU responded with a pair or runs in the bottom of the inning, then put the game away with four runs in the eighth.
