A's pitcher/Oscar savant John Axford is back with his predictions, bodes well for Leo

If Oakland Athletics relief pitcher and Academy Awards savant John Axford is correct, actor Leonardo DiCaprio will finally get to clutch some golden hardware on his fourth Best Actor nomination for his role in "The Revenant."

Here are Axford's picks for the major categories this year's Oscars slate:

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Revenant")

John Axford, now a member of the Athletics.

Best Actress: Brie Larson ("Room")

Best Actress (Supporting): Alicia Vikander ("The Danish Girl")

DiCaprio is a heavy favorite to take home the hardware this year with odds at -10000 as of Friday, according to Oddshark. Besides losing to McConaughey for Best Actor in 2014, he was nominated in 2007 for "Blood Diamond" and in 2005 for "The Aviator."
