Baylor coach Art Briles' older brother Eddie died on Wednesday, Baylor announced.
"We've seen an immediate and overwhelming outpouring of love and sympathy," Baylor AD Ian McCaw said in a statement. "We ask Baylor Nation to support Coach Briles and his family by respecting their privacy as they mourn their loss."
Eddie Briles was Art Briles only brother and was a registered nurse who lived with his wife Teresa in Haskell, Texas, near the Briles' hometown of Rule, Texas.
Art Briles has no plans to comment, the statement said.
Baylor travels to face TCU on Saturday.
Briles' mother, father and aunt were killed in a car accident on the way to see Art play football for Houston on Oct. 16, 1976.
