Arizona's Hill named to Wooden Award watch list

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona forward Solomon Hill was named Thursday as one of 50 players on the watch list for the John R. Wooden Award, given to the top college basketball player in the country.
Hill, a 6-foot-7 senior from Los Angeles, averaged 12.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season. He had 12 double-doubles last year and was named to the All-Pac-12 first team.
The 37th annual Wooden Award ceremony, which will include the announcement of the men's and women's Wooden Award winner, and the presentation of the Wooden Award All-America teams will take place the weekend of April 12-13 at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
The 11th-ranked Wildcats open the regular season on Sundayagainst Charleston Southern at McKale Center.
