TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior guard Candice Warthen scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting, but it wasn't enough, as the Arizona women's basketball team fell to California 65-46 Friday night.

For Warthen, the scoring performance marked her team-leading 16th double-digit scoring game of the season, while she's led the team in scoring in 13 of 22 games this season.

Sophomore forward LaBrittney Jones continued her great play as of late. She poured in 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting, grabbed seven rebounds and recorded two blocks off the bench. She has now scored in double-figures in four of her last five games, while she's collected 15 blocks over her last five contests.

Senior Alli Gloyd nearly notched her second double-figure rebounding game of the season, as she pulled down a team-best nine boards and recorded a season and game-high tying three steals in 19 minutes of action.

The Wildcats' bench outscored the Cal reserves 17-6, marking the 13th time in the last 20 games that UA has won the battle of the benches. Arizona has now had at least one double-figure scorer off the bench in seven straight contests, while the bench has accounted for 44 percent of its points over the last nine games.

Arizona kept things close early, as it never trailed by more than six points until midway through the first half, as the Wildcats were only down by 11 with six minutes to play in the period.

Unfortunately Cal's hot shooting was a little too much to handle, as they eventually went on to win.
