Arizona to play Oklahoma State in NCAA soccer tourney

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona women's soccer team is one of 64 teams selected for the NCAA Tournament and will open postseason play on Friday, Nov. 14, with a game at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.

Arizona takes a 10-7-2 record into the game and was 4-6-1 against Pac-12 competition. Oklahoma State is 10-9-1 overall and 5-2-1 in Big 12 conference play.

This will be only the third postseason appearance for Arizona in the program's 20-year history.

 "If you think about it, it's really great," Arizona coach Tony Amato said. "There are only 33 at-large bids, and we are one of them."

The Wildcats defeated Oklahoma State 3-1 on Sept. 7 as part of the Sun Devil Classic in Tempe. Freshman Gabi Stoian had two goals and an assist as the Wildcats rallied to overcome at early 1-0 deficit. Friday's winner will play the winner of an opening-round game between Texas A&M and Houston Baptist on Friday, Feb. 21.
