Arizona to play New Mexico St. in NCAA volleyball tourney

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona (20-12) will make its 25th NCAA volleyball tournament appearance since 1981 when it plays New Mexico State (22-10) on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. in San Diego.
The University of San Diego, seeded ninth nationally, will host the first- and second-round matches on campus at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The Toreros will host UC Santa Barbara in the other first-round match at the site. The survivor from the San Diego venue will advance to Lincoln, Neb., for the Sweet 16 round.
The top four seeds in the 64-team tournament are No. 1 Texas; No. 2 Penn State; No. 3 Washington; and No. 4 Missouri. The Pac-12 qualified nine teams for the tournament.
