Arizona lands ex-LSU defensive end
Arizona on Tuesday picked up its sixth transfer from a big-time program when former LSU defensive end Jordan Allen announced he will join the Wildcats this fall.
Allen will be a fifth-year senior who graduated in December and will be immediately eligible.
LSU released the 6-foot-6, 254-pound Allen from his scholarship so long as he joined a program outside the SEC and enrolled for a graduate degree LSU doesn't offer.

"I was just ready for a fresh start; something different," Allen told the Arizona Daily Star. "I wanted to find a place where I could come in and help the team and ultimately help them win a championship. Arizona seems like the perfect spot to do that."
Allen last season registered 16 tackles, including two sacks. He was a starter when the season began but eventually lost that job.
Allen will join the following as transfer into coach Rich Rodriguez's program: former Notre Dame receiver DaVonte' Neal, Texas transfers Connor Brewer and Cayleb Jones, one-time USC quarterback Jesse Scroggins, Jerrard Randall, who like Allen once played at LSU, and former Boise State defensive lineman Jeff Worthy.
