The Arizona athletic department is calling for a Red Out at Saturday’s basketball game against UCLA at McKale Center. The game will be played in front of national TV audience, and the Wildcats will debut their Nike Hyper Elite Platinum uniforms. Fans are encouraged to wear red as a sign of unity and to help create a memorable atmosphere for the 2011-12 home finale.

Arizona is one of only nine schools to receive the Nike Elite Platinum uniforms. The other eight programs: Baylor (women’s), Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Syracuse, Connecticut (men’s and women’s) and North Carolina. Nike and Arizona will offer fans an up-close look at these uniforms with a special display case inside McKale Center on Saturday. Nike is also providing free Platinum Elite Brightened T-shirts (red) to the first 1,500 ZonaZoo members.

Afterward, Arizona’s five departing seniors will be honored in the traditional postgame Senior Day ceremony. Fans are encouraged to remain seated after the game and help honor the careers of Kyle Fogg, Alex Jacobson, Brendon Lavender, Jesse Perry and Dondre Wise.
