About the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA:
The all-new Jackie Robinson Family YMCA has just re-opened with a completely renovated and expanded facility!
With an amazing state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center, child watch center and Kid’s Adventure Land, an intergenerational room, member lounge, as well as a Major League Baseball All-Star Sports Complex finally open to members and program participants, we’re looking forward to serving the Southeast San Diego community and continuing the work we started in 1943. The Annual YMCA of San Diego County Tribute to Jackie Robinson Gala was originally established to honor the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball.
Since the first event in 1997, the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA has awarded over $300,000 to 194 students in Southeastern San Diego to help them pursue their dreams of higher education.
Through the generosity of our inspired patrons, close to $2,000,000 has been dedicated to program support for kids and families living in San Diego County’s most critical community.
