Albert Pujols joined the 500 home run club on Monday, becoming the first player in MLB history to hit No. 499 and 500 in the same game.

Despite the milestone, Pujols says it's not about numbers, so the historic night got a little sweeter after Angels beat the Nationals 7-2.

"We ended up winning the series, and that's the most important thing," a humble Pujols told FOX Sports West's Jose Mota after the game.

"It's hard to celebrate when you have another team on the other side you have to respect."

After the game, teammates weighed in on witnessing the historic event and discussed what it's like sharing a clubhouse with a player like Pujols:

Mike Trout: This is just the beginning for Pujols

David Freese: Pujols is all class

Raul Ibanez honored to witness Pujols history

Howie Kendrick: Pujols a model teammate
