LONDON (AP) New Zealand center Malakai Fekitoa will miss the rugby test against France on Saturday after being banned for one week for a dangerous high tackle.
A disciplinary committee found that Fekitoa should have been sent off for the tackle on Ireland winger Simon Zebo during the All Blacks' 21-9 win in Dublin on Saturday. The committee said Fekitoa had ''acted recklessly rather than intentionally.''
A two-week ban, which is the low-end entry point for the offense, was reduced to a week because of various mitigating factors.
New Zealand flanker Sam Cane was also cited after the Ireland match for a dangerous tackle, and is set to have his disciplinary hearing later Tuesday.
