Alabama's Courtney Upshaw: "Touch That Thing Folk" Line Inspires Rap Song, Parody
Alabama's Courtney Upshaw was an absolute beast in the BCS title game.
Such a beast that he received the game's defensive MVP honors.
As Upshaw accepted the trophy from ESPN's John Saunders, he took the trophy, passed it to a defensive teammate and said, "Touch that thing folk." (Some Alabama fans argue he said, "Touch that thing four." Also, other Alabama fans says he said, "Touch that thing fool." But the fact that we don't know for certain whether Upshaw said "folk", "four", or "fool" somehow makes this even better. After all, great art always requires interpretation. And make no mistake, Upshaw's interview was great art. Like the Lincoln-Douglas debates with shoulder pads.)
Anyway, Upshaw's eloquence has now inspired a rap song and at least one trophy acceptance parody video.
On the day that Upshaw, Dre Kirkpatrick, and Trent Richardson all announce for the NFL Draft, what better way to celebrate than with a nice renidition of the new rap hit: "Tough that thing folk."
