-- Georgia put up 14 points in each the first three quarters and shut down Georgia Tech's triple-option offense, the second such offense the Bulldogs faced in consecutive weeks. Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall and Aaron Murray each scored two touchdowns. Georgia began scoring quickly, inspired by Malcom Mitchell's 47-yard return on the opening kickoff. Four plays and three first downs later, the Bulldogs had their first score, and didn't look back.
-- Turnovers cost Georgia Tech a chance at victory. A fumble wasted an 83-yard drive and a turnover on downs ended another drive in Georgia territory. Tech also missed a field goal just before halftime, as they struggled to put points on the board despite moving the ball relatively well. Georgia Tech owned the time of possession, controlling the ball for almost 40 minutes.
-- Murray was close to perfect on the day, completing 14/17 passes for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Bulldogs ran for 163 yards, with Gurley gaining 97 on 12 carries and Marshall running for 66 on seven carries.
-- Cody Journell kicked the game-winning field goal with four seconds remaining to give the Hokies a 17-14 lead. Logan Thomas scored the rest of Virginia Tech's points, a seven yard pass to Randall Dunn in the second quarter, and a four yard run in the third.
-- The Cavaliers' points came on big plays, a 42 yard Michael Rocco to Tim Smith touchdown to level the score at halftime, and a 16 yard sack/fumble which was returned for a touchdown in the third.
-- Logan Thomas was the Hokies primary ball handler, throwing the ball 38 times and rushing 29 times, totaling 218 of the Hokies 303 yards. Michael Rocco went 14/29 for 177 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Virginia also lost a fumble on their first drive of the game.
-- N.C. State took control of the game in the second quarter with a Mike Glennon four yard touchdown pass and a 55 yard interception return for a score by David Amerson. The interception put the Wolfpack up 14-3 going into the half.
-- Rolandan Finch brought the game closer in the third quarter with a four yard score, but two Glennon touchdowns put the game well out of reach. Glennon finished with three scores and 245 yards.
-- Three Chase Rettig interceptions cost Boston College a chance at winning the game, who gained 322 total yards including 199 on the ground, 144 coming from Finch. Shadrach Thornton gained 105 yards for the Wolfpack, who totaled 376 yards.
-- Vanderbilt reeled off four consecutive touchdowns between the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach for Wake Forest. A Tommy Bohanan rushing touchdown from the goal line leveled the score in the first quarter, but Wake would not score against until Deandre Martin scored another 1 yard touchdown with 9:09 left in the third.
-- Jordan Rogers opened the scoring with a 25 yard touchdown to Wesley Tate, and finished with two touchdowns on the day, the second a 64 yarder to Jordan Matthews. Zac Stacey also finished with two touchdowns, including a 90 yard rush in the fourth quarter for Vandy's final points. Stacy finished with 180 yards.
-- Wake Forest was unable to capitalize winning the turnover battle, as they failed to gain crucial yards when needed. They were 2/5 on fourth down conversions, rendering their 310 total yards largely ineffective. Wake also had a punt blocked and returned for a touchdown.
-- UNC won a back-and-forth contest against the Terps, jumping out to a quick 14-0 lead within three minutes of kickoff on two Bryn Renner touchdown passes. Maryland responded with two rushing touchdowns, and would hold a 35-31 lead in the third quarter. UNC reeled off six straight scores, four touchdowns and two field goals, to go up 45-35, with Maryland adding a late field goal.
-- Bryn Renner threw for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns on the day, and Giovani Bernard added 163 yards and a touchdown of his own. Quinshad Davis was the recipient of two of Renner's touchdowns, adding 135 yards on 9 receptions.
-- Third down efficiently was the difference in the game, with UNC completing 7-14 to keep drives alive. The Terrapins were just 3/14. UNC outgained Maryland 484-404. UNC were penalized 11 times for 86 yards.
-- FSU took a 20-13 lead into the fourth quarter, but three touchdowns and a field goal gave Florida the victory. Caleb Sturgis started the comeback with a 32 yard field goal, then Mike Gillislee scored a 37 yard touchdown, Jeff Driskel passed to Quinton Dunbar from 14 yards away, and Matt Jones took a 32 yard rush into the end zone to complete the win.
-- EJ Manuel scored all three touchdowns for FSU, a 6 yard touchdown and a 1 yard rush in the third quarter, and a 22 yard run as time expired in the fourth quarter. Dustin Hopkins nailed two field goals, the first from 50 and the second from 53 yards away.
-- The Seminoles were unable to slow the Gators' rushing attack. Florida amassed 243 yards on the grounds, with Mike Gillislee adding 140 and two scores. Matt Jones ran for 81 yards, and Trey Burton chipped in 24 on his only rush of the day.
